Ventilation

At Horsfield we provide a complete range of ventilation services, from design and equipment selection, through to installation, after sales support and cost-effective maintenance.

We enjoy working in partnership with our clients, delivering a high standard of service, and take pride in our ability to demonstrate innovative thinking, value engineering and environmental best practice.

Our work is always completed in compliance with current standards, by certified engineers and you have the reassurance that we are a BESA (Building Engineering Services Association) and CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) accredited company.

WHY VENTILATION?

Air is essential to humans; we need it to survive! and whilst fresh air is a good thing, stale/polluted air can be very harmful to us. So, when we are inside whether at home or at work, good ventilation ensures a supply of fresh air that is vital for a healthy environment:

Air Quality
It can often be the case that the air inside a building is more polluted than the air outside, especially in colder months when we close all the windows and doors to keep the heat in. Restricting the amount of fresh air entering a building can result in a build-up of pollutants, bacteria, moisture and pongs such as body odour.

Air regulation
Without a ventilation system, you have no control of the air flow in a building. Too much fresh air can mean costly energy bills, whilst too little ventilation can cause ‘air tightness’, which in commercial buildings may not meet proscribed health and safety standards.

Condensation
Damp conditions and condensation can quickly lead to mould and cause health issues such as allergic reactions and respiratory problems for people.

Comfort
When more people occupy a limited space, the environment can become hot and stuffy.

Health
Indoor air pollution coupled with poor/insufficient ventilation can lead to a number of health problems including headaches, allergies, asthma, rashes and sinusitis.

A correctly designed and maintained ventilation system will mitigate and, in most cases, eliminate the risks and discomfort associated with inadequate or non-existent ventilation.
