  • Client

    Kew Green Hotels Ltd
  • Location

    Holiday Inn - Rugby
  • Sector

    Hotels & Leisure
  • Requirements

    Install temporary boiler plant
  • Objective

Restore heating and hot water services to the hotel

This job started as an urgent call from the Holiday Inn Hotel in Rugby

17th December (Thursday) We received a call to attend site and restore heat to the hotel.
1.4 megawatt of boiler plant at the hotel had been condemned by another contractor; the boilers had been isolated and 100 bedrooms left without heating or hot water.

18th December (Friday) The day our team would normally be enjoying an early finish and shutting down for Christmas!
They were mobilised and travelling down to site to make preparations to accept a 600kW temporary plant unit.

19th December (Saturday)

  • 10am – 600kW temporary boiler plant delivered to site
  • 2pm – Temporary plant commissioned and the hotel’s heating and hot water services restored

Results

We are experienced in delivering solutions when things go wrong, and jobs like this are the ones that keep us practised and sharp.

  • The hotel had it’s heating and hot water services restored in less than 3 days from the initial call

Pleased with our work, we were invited to submit our price to replace the condemned plant, and having been successful in competitive tender, the plant room refit has now been completed and a case study for that project can be found here.
